Oral Appliance Therapy

At Brushy Mountain Sleep Solutions, we specialize in providing comfortable and effective oral appliance therapy to treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and snoring. Our custom-fitted oral appliances offer a non-invasive alternative to CPAP machines, helping you achieve restful sleep without the hassle of masks or hoses. We partner with leading manufacturers like ProSomnus to deliver precision-engineered devices tailored to your unique needs.

Why Choose Oral Appliance Therapy?

Oral appliances are small, discreet, and easy to use, making them an ideal choice for many patients. These devices work by gently positioning your lower jaw forward to keep your airway open during sleep, reducing snoring and alleviating sleep apnea symptoms. Benefits include:

  • Comfort: Lightweight and custom-fitted for a snug, natural feel.
  • Convenience: Travel-friendly with no cords or power sources needed.
  • Effectiveness: Clinically proven to reduce apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) scores.
  • Insurance Coverage: Most medical insurance plans, including Medicare, cover oral appliance therapy.

How Oral Appliances Work

Oral appliances are worn like a mouthguard during sleep. They gently hold your lower jaw forward to prevent the tongue and other soft tissues from collapsing and blocking your airway. Our process includes:

  1. Sleep Testing: Before beginning treatment, a sleep study is needed for definitive diagnosis of sleep apnea. Once this is completed, your doctor or sleep physician will provide our office with a prescription to fill for an oral appliance.
  2. Custom Fitting: A comprehensive exam and digital impressions will be scheduled at our office to ensure a precise fit.
  3. Titration: Adjustments to optimize jaw positioning for maximum effectiveness.
  4. Follow-Up: Regular check-ins to monitor progress and comfort.
